To make sure that your cleaning business plan measures up have a quick read over the following points. They will help you to check if your report is laid out correctly, with the right content and with professional looking presentation.

Good Writing Style

While it may be necessary to include some business terminology in the plan you should still try to keep the language that you use to write it as simple as possible. Don't cover too many points in a single sentence, paragraph or section. Make it as easy as possible for the reader to digest the information. Try to make it an enjoyable read by sparking their interest and they will then be more likely to read through the entire plan.

Avoid Errors

There is nothing worse than a business plan that is full of mistakes. In the eyes of the reader it conveys the image of sloppiness and chaos and doesn't reflect well on the writer. You should read over the plan at least several times to make sure that all of the information is correct. Run it through a spelling and grammar checker on your PC and have a friend with skills in this area edit it for you.

Remember that financial figures will be just as important as the written body of the plan. Double check all figures and make sure that everything is added up correctly.

Sections and Layout

All business plans should be divided into sections. Every business plan expert will have different ideas about what information should go where and what section titles should be used. However, there is a basic outline that you should follow such as including an executive summary, a market analysis and so on. Make sure that your plan flows through nicely from start to finish in a logical order.

Start a Cleaning Business Guides

If you search online you will find that there are many different kinds of templates and software available for business plans. Look for examples that are specifically related to the cleaning industry niche that you would like to enter.

Professional Presentation

Make sure that the business plan is presented neatly and professionally. Have the finished report printed on good quality paper and inserted into a binder or folder. Try to present information in the easiest way possible. You may decide to include graphs, tables or other diagrams to convey information to your readers.

Supporting Data and References

For your business plan to be truly successful when it comes to convincing others that your plan is viable you need to outline your case and provide proof wherever possible. When preparing the plan you will be making estimates and assumptions about many factors that will influence your success. Rather than simply guessing you should try to back up your ideas with hard facts wherever possible. List your references and include supporting documents in an appendix.

Detailed and Inclusive

Make sure that your plan includes everything that people would want to know about your proposed cleaning startup. Make sure that you are not leaving any obvious questions unanswered. If you do show your report to interested parties and they have questions then you should rewrite the plan to address their concerns. That way other readers will not have to ask you the same questions.

Not Too Short, Not Too Long

You have to strike the right balance when it comes to the length of the plan. A good plan should outline all of the necessary information briefly in a condensed and easy to read format. On the other hand, there is a lot of information to cover and you do have to be fairly detailed when communicating some of your ideas.

If you are just starting up a small house cleaning business a plan of around four to five pages should be sufficient. If you are starting a larger operation or going into commercial cleaning then your plan may have to be longer.

Before you finalize your plan and publish it, do a final check and remove anything that is not really necessary. Ask yourself if each sentence really serves the purpose of conveying essential information. If it doesn't then you should consider removing it.
